A trip to Barcelona

Work brought me in Barcelona last December. After the business part was done, I spent three additional days wandering around the city’s main attraction points, a day trip to Tibidabo and a day trip to Figueres, visiting the Dalí Theatre and Museum.

I had been to Barcelona before, with very fond memories of the rich architecture that the city has to offer. This time, though, I was less rushed, so I could enjoy it even more, having time to visit the Sagrada Familia and climbing up to one of its towers.

Another destination possible due to having more time was Parc Guell, which is definitely a place to visit. Because of its popularity, crowds make it difficult to get clear shots of the structures, so plan on earlier visit schedules.

Being so close to Christmas, the city was also very lively and dressed in festive mode, with several additional street markets and light decorations that you would otherwise not see, especially in the area around La Rambla, where you should not miss the covered market, La Boqueria, and the Church of Santa Maria del Pi.

Hope this prompts you to include Barcelona in your future travel plans, especially if you also enjoy good Spanish cuisine. More pictures after the break.
