Goat Rock Beach

As a very much last-minute decision, this past long weekend landed me onto the shores up North, somewhere in the line of Santa Rosa, but on the coast; Jenner, the closest location, Goat Rock Beach the name of the particular Sonoma State Beach Park.

The drive was a bit longer than due, because of the heavy long weekend traffic, but not too bad, considering past experience to other locations.

At a first look towards the Rock, the first thing that came to my mind was Morro Bay, for it’s incredible resemblance. Odds want that I was in Morro Bay exactly one year ago, during a long weekend trip around Solvang.

The beach is clean and welcoming; none of the (stinky) seaweeds that I have encountered on others; it is easy to lay down and relax under the sun while the breeze cools off some of this shortly arrived summer heat. You can find families relaxing or playing ball; couples sunbathing or simply enjoying the ocean view. Goat Rock Beach seems to be a very suitable place for paragliding as well.

Although “the photographer in me” was officially on vacation, I still have some shots to share. Hope they will make you want to go and visit Goat Rock Beach. :-)
